Delivery

We offer deliveries all over New England, and have traveled as far as Philadelphia to deliver a wedding cake. We also recently created a wedding cake and desserts in St. John, in the Caribbean. Delivery fees are based on mileage, to and from the venue. Depending on your cake & design, delivery made be necessary to ensure the success of your cake.

Pick Up

For smaller events, simple events, or just to save a little money, pick up is an option. For this, we box up everything and secure items within the boxes to make sure your items will arrive safely to your wedding location. We personally put everything in the car and will go over a checklist with you. For temperature sensitive items, we will go over in detail proper storage.

temperature

Weather in New England is straight up unpredictable. No other way to say that. Part of our delivery and set up service is communicating with your venue the day of and coordinating set up depending on the weather. If it is too warm for us to put out your desserts, we make sure they go out at the appropriate time. The success of your event means everything to us and we ensure our delivery timing is appropriate with the weather.

Set Up

For deliveries that require set up, there will be an extra fee depending on the amount of desserts, detail in set up time or design difficulty, and the amount of stands needed. For example, a small two tier or three tier cake with minimal floral design could be a $25 set up fee. A cake hanging from the ceiling with cascading flowers all individually wired together that takes 5 plus hours may be closer to $250. (That was a real example!)

Dessert tables typically take about an hour or two to set up. From loading the car, then unloading the car, to making sure each stand is properly displayed, and every dessert out is perfectly facing the right way! We really take pride in how we display your desserts. Most of the time we can’t fit all desserts out for display. We would put out a good amount that looks full but not too full. The remaining desserts are then given to the kitchen staff or caterer to restock your display as needed.

We will go over these little details with you during our consultation or phone meeting.

rentals & Stands

There are a variety of stands and props available for rent that we set up and pick up the following day. We have stumps, marble, more rustic crates, wire stands, tiered metal stands, white porcelain, and a variety of props like old books and tea cups. If you’re looking for something specific and don’t want to source it yourself, we’re happy to help.

Rentals are priced depending on size, quality, and quantity. Additional set up time may be required. Usually, rentals range from a single stand or trio at $25 upwards to bigger pieces of furniture and lots of props upwards of $250. Typically, each wedding rental cost is $50-$100. It doesn’t exceed that amount unless your set up is custom.

Supplying your own stand

If you have stands or platters that mean a lot to you, you would like to save a little money and purchase your own stands, or you have your heart set on making your own stand, that is no problem with us! We do require to either inspect the stands, plans, or to at least see a picture of them. This is purely to ensure the safety of putting desserts on your stands the day of the wedding. The last thing we want is to find out the day of the wedding that your stands aren’t sufficient.

Boxes and storage

After we finish setting up, any restock is handed directly to the kitchen, chef, or coordinator. We will recommend proper storage of your desserts for them to follow. We always want to make sure that your remaining desserts don’t go missing or get put in the hot kitchen.

We will leave any extra boxes for left overs or a cake box for your top tier with your coordinator or someone of authority.

If you are looking for smaller, take home boxes, just let us know and we can help coordinate that with you.

Floral Design

When you look at our cakes you might think, “Do the florists do all of the flower work?” Well, at least we hope you think that! But nope, that’s all us! During set up, your florist leaves us a bucket of flowers and that’s when the magic happens!

Using food safe floral tape, each flower is prepped to be put on your cake. If flowers need sturdiness, we insert food safe wire into the stem, and wrap securely with food safe floral tape. Assembling flowers on the cake is one of our favorite things to do!

After decorating your cake, we ensure the area is clean and petal free. We also dispose of any trash caused by set up.

We look to your florists for guidance on food safe florals. You will also pay your florist directly for any additional accents for your cake or desserts, unless discussed otherwise.

If by chance you are not using a florist, we are happy to order flowers for you!

Props

If you have a theme for your event, and want us to decorate the table with props, just say the word! Whether your event is Shabby Chic inspired and we help you source vintage furniture, or your theme is the outdoors and your display is made up of rustic camping lanterns, wooden canoe paddles, and fishing gear - we would love to help make your display really unique.

Delivery, Set Up, and Pick up Orders

Delivery and Set up fees are based on location, difficulty and amount of time involved in delivery. All Jackson venues start at $100 for delivery and set up. Most wedding deliveries take minimum an hour. This fee is your insurance that your desserts will be professionally set up and delivered. Extra fees may apply for deliveries to mountain venues like Wildcat Resort or North Peak at Sunday River where a gondola ride is involved. There is a lot involved when delivering, including coordinating with venue, boxing up desserts safely, driving mountain roads, transporting stands, setting them up, applying floral or accent details, making sure restock is refrigerated properly, etc. Setting up a tiered cake, an elaborate display or dessert table may require additional set up fees.

For pick up orders, we ensure your desserts are boxed appropriately for travel. We will assist you in packing up your car to ensure the safety of your desserts. We will also help coordinate refrigeration or set up instructions with your venue. Some cakes may not be recommended for pick up.
